Phase 1  – Primary Sector Programming

This workshop requires 4 hours to complete this element of teacher CPD. We travel to you and give the attendees the tools, skills, and confidence to explore blended techniques learning in their classroom and start to understand and introduce Computer Science elements.

  2. Virus and Malware! What software should I use to protect myself? What is an update? Who sends it? What does it do?
  3. How to keep your Laptops and PC clean and safe.
  4. Understanding Blended Learning Teaching.
  5. Youtube for Education.
  6. What is important to understand when purchasing new hardware?
  7. Educational Website Usage.
  8. Online Safety for Kids – YAPPY.
  9. Coding with Scratch.

Phase 2 – Connect to the World – HTML/CSS 

Workshop Overview:

  • Making connections: Computers are communication devices
  • Enable students to build a website using HTML and CSS to showcase their learning
  1. Introduction to Text Edits.
  2. How websites work.
  3. Understanding the Internet versus the Web.
  4. Creating your first page.
  5. Introduction to elements.
  6. What is CSS?
  7. Introduction to CSS.

Phase 3 – Real World language Python Programming 

Workshop Overview:

  • Making connections: Computers are communication devices
  • Enable students to build a website using HTML and CSS to showcase their learning
  • Implement Python in their classroom.
  • For those that are already delivering Python, this course will provide a full syllabus to allow teachers to expand their current skills portfolio.

What will be covered?

  • How to use Python IDLE & Interface & Environment.
  • Using Turtle Graphics.
  • Understanding Variables & Numbers.
  • Loops. While, Repeat (For) & Nested.
  • Conditions & Boolean Logic.
  • Functions.
